WHO WE ARE
RLT (in English Rebuild Lasting Together) is a local development NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) working in Khagrachari Hill District, Chittagong Hill Tracts, Bangladesh.
RLT began with the collaboration of a group of indigenous, local, energetic, educated social workers; with the aim of promoting the socio-economic, educational and cultural status of the poor and vulnerable people in Khagrachari Hill District.
In 1997, after many years of conflicts in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT), a peace accord was agreed, between PCJSS and the government of Bangladesh. Because of this, the situation is now favourable for sustainable development of the CHT people. On February 2nd 1997, RLT was established as a local non-profit Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), with the Marma name Rurowa Laue Tathang; aiming to uplift the neglected local people in the Khagrachari Hill District, in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) of Bangladesh.
RLT envisions a world in which all individuals have the opportunity to reach their full potential and contribute to the well-being of their family, community and country.
RLT's mission is to make a positive difference in people's lives, by working in partnership to create opportunities and implement the basic rights of the peoples.
The main goal of RLT is to fulfilL the basic needs of the peoples, by a rights based approach.
We are driven by a personal commitment to making a positive difference in this district and in people's lives, particularly for those who are underserved.
We value the cultures and people with whom we collaborate and the ideas and perspectives of all our employees.
We work in partnership with donors and beneficiaries, to achieve measurable goals and deliver sustainable solutions that meet their development needs.
We strive for the highest ethical standards, transparency, and accountability in all aspects of our work, as an independent organization free of political influence.
We challenge ourselves to be creative, to listen, to learn, to readily adapt, and to share knowledge, in order to fuel aspirations and solve critical social problems.
We believe competency and experience with a range of cultures and sectors strengthens the impact of our work, and we value diversity in its broadest sense, including and going beyond race, ethnicity and gender.
